Ego Is The Enemy
Ego Is The Enemy

According to Ryan Holiday, Ego is an unhealthy belief in our self-importance. |
It will provide you with another perspective to see life through and encourage you to make changes as all self-help books do.
However the self-help genre is like; motivational lectures, ted talks, role models, Quora answers, etc. meaningless. They have no meaning, no power except the power you give them.
SELF IMPROVEMENT TRAP
The self-improvement trap is the consumption of thoughts from multiple mediums designed to guide you towards improving yourself.
Your idealised perfection, which by the way is impossible because the more you learn the further away perfection gets. Is it not perfect? The problem is, it is hard.
You do not read ego is the enemy and forget your ego where you finished the book. “You know what I read the book and I think I left my ego behind on the train. I guess I don’t need it now.”
It indeed has brilliant arguments and real-life examples of why your ego (pride) is working against you, preventing your development, setting you up for the fall, and showing you life through rose-coloured lenses until you crash and lose everything because you never admitted everything wasn’t rosy.
It’s all there perfectly articulated and designed to improve your life it just won’t, it cannot, none of them can. Only you can.
